50kms north of Sydney and located on a finger of land we call "The Peninsula", Palm Beach abruptly ends like a full stop on the foreshores of the Pacific Ocean.
Since the late 19th Century when the iconic Barrenjoey Lighthouse guided seafarers safely into Broken Bay, its sentinel like presence and the charm of Palm Beach continues to captivate the small band of 850 full time residents, and serve as a respite for thousands of intrigued travellers from every corner of the globe.
Within this unrivalled precinct of peace, rainbow lorikeets, splendid homes, fashion aficionados, beach umbrellas, alfresco dining, and abundant flora, SALT opened its doors in 2000.
Drawing inspiration from its unique environment, and individuality of its patrons, we designed a store that imbues taste and form in offering a unique collection of Italian Resort wear and soaps, hand made footwear from Sweden, Ecuadorian panamas, and sun hats fashioned from water hyacinth, local Palm Beach scented candles, and an exclusive collection of Coral and shells farmed under license from The Great Barrier Reef.
Include praline filled hand-made Sydney chocolates, an exotic range of condiments, honeys and olives grown and bottled in Western Australia, plus artwork from local artisans and unique antique pieces, and you’re on your way to a memorable experience.
